Warning Track Power Baseball

There are some people in this world, just like myself, who can never get enough baseball. It is a subject that is on the brain every single day of my life at some point and in some way, shape or form. I have previously blogged about sports via The Junkyard with the 3 fellow Junkyard Dogs, but the content and love for other sports, for me anyways, did not allow me to keep up with an all sports all the time blog. I recently got the itch to get back into the blogging business but to focus my writing on the number one passion in my life; baseball. It is my hope that Warning Track Power will be an interesting read for all baseball fans who come across the blog. I will delve into all aspects of the game, at all levels of the game from high school and college to the minors and the big show.

Spring training is staring baseball players and fans dead in the face as it is a mere half month away for big league clubs. Here is a list of when pitchers and catchers report for each major league team.

Feb. 13th: Arizone Dbacks, Baltimore Orioles, Detroit Tigers, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, Seattle Mariners, Toronto Blue Jays

Feb. 14th: Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Angels, New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants

Feb. 15th: Houston Astros, Oakland A’s, Tampa Bay Rays

Feb. 16th: Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Dodgers, Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Washington Nationals

I am excited to get the ball rolling here at Warning Track Power where we live, breathe & bleed baseball. Stay tuned for updates this week on WAR(wins above replacement) projections and analysis relative to free agent signings this offseason.

interesting stuff on the war, have heard that thrown around but never really understood it… i’m interested to hear your thoughts on the rays signing damon and ramirez..i listened to the press conference quickly and damon said something mentioning bringing a title to the rays…they lost garza, crawford, and pena…i see them coming back in a few years but do you see them even having enough to get to 80 games?

Hey Mike, thanks for the comment buddy. I will get the more WAR stuff this week and discuss Damon and Manny to the Rays alittle bit and even more so when I do a little Tampa Bay Rays preview at some point before opening day.

As far as 80 wins goes that may be a little low I could see them slightly over .500 but it is hard for me to think they will drop below. They did lose a lot, Crawford and Garza especially(Pena less so but his presence is strong regardless of his big down year.)

Rays over/under number I heard recently is 88.5 so I would have to say under maybe 85?
